Weatherization and ARRA Stimulus

The Weatherization Assistance Program enables low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. EOA Savannah Weatherization services include: smoke alarm installation, gas heater repairs, hot water heater repairs, non-vented space heater replacement, furnace repair and replacement, gas stove repair and replacement, and carbon monoxide alarm installation.

To kick start job creation and improve energy efficiency, the Obama administration is putting people to work weatherizing homes with funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, ARRA.

The Energy Department has partnered with state and local governments to put 87,000 Americans to work and save low-income families hundreds of dollars a year on their energy bills.

The funding will support weatherization of homes by adding more insulation, sealing leaks and modernizing heating and air conditioning equipment

The Weatherization Assistance Program will allow an average investment of up to $6,500 per home in energy efficiency upgrades and will be available for families making up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level - about $44,000 a year for a family of four.
