Group Work Camp
The EOA Weatherization Department weatherized ninety-three homes in the Savannah and Chatham County area. Seventy-four of these homes were either those of elderly or disabled residents. EOA installed $15,250.00 in health & safety measures. These measures included smoke alarms, gas heater repairs, hot water heater repairs, and carbon monoxide alarms. The Georgia Department of Environment Facilities Authority funded the program with funds from the Department of Energy, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
During the summer, EOA host the Work Group Camp. There were 790 young people who participated in the work camp. The kids endured the hot summer heat in order to complete sixty-one homes.
