Duffy Street SRO Homeless Shelter


The Duffy Street SRO, Inc., is a for profit housing development built in 1993 for homeless men. The project is a partnership between the Affordable Housing Group and EOA. EOA is the managing partner and provides social services to residents of the facility. The facility, the first of its kind in the south, is a single room occupancy (SRO) facility that provides permanent housing for 40 men with supportive services. In addition the facility has on site property management, laundry services, and common areas for residents to have various activities. Each room is equipped with a bed, stove, refrigerator, closet, and outlets for additional appliances and electronics. The facility also has central heat and air. Rent is subsidized based on the resident’s income. The subsidy is provided by the Housing Authority of Savannah. The property manager is Lewis Johnson.
